Canford Renewable Energy (CRE) has been advancing its ‘Dorset Green H2’ project, which is the South West’s first green hydrogen production facility. The project includes a 6.8 MW solar park in Wimborne, near Poole, that was energized in October 2022. This solar park supplies electricity to a co-located 0.9 MW electrolyser, capable of producing approximately 120,000 kg of green hydrogen annually.
To enhance its hydrogen production capacity, CRE has obtained consent for a second electrolyser and is moving forward with its development. The company is currently tendering for the procurement of an electrolyser ranging from 1.0 MW to 1.5 MW, along with associated hydrogen compression equipment.
This expansion aligns with CRE’s ongoing efforts to bolster renewable energy infrastructure in the region, furthering the development of a hydrogen economy in the Southwest.
